Don't get me wrong, I love sports, but when it comes to pro sports, I constantly find myself keeping it at arms length. There really is something wrong when people earning less than 0.001% of what pro athletes are making, spend their hard earned money on overpriced (and ever increasing) tickets and concessions that obviously help line the pockets of these athletes.
Then on top of that some athletes have the nerve to complain that they are underpaid! Are they serious?! They have no life skills for doing anything but what they are already doing, so they should be thankful they make what they do. Don't insult our intelligence by claiming $10 million a year isn't enough for you when most families of four are trying to survive on $35,000 a year. Please.
This is a sad commentary on our sports-fascinated society where we value someone who plays a child's game more than professions that actually make a difference in people's lives, such as teachers, police officers, firefighters, and the list goes on and on.
