Bad, Coming to a Theater Near You

Another strip about bad movies. Nothing iritates me more than having high hopes for a film only to have them dashed by actually watching the film. Even movies that seem to get positive reviews tend to disappoint me and make me wonder what others saw in the movie that I didn't see. Could be a situation where people say they like the movie simply to go along with the overall perception (that may have been created by the film's marketing efforts, not based on anything substantive).

The Magazine Scene

One of my pet peeves is the way magazine subscriptions are marketed. Two months into your 12-month magazine subscription, it is likely you'll receive a letter stating something to the effect that your subscription will expire, and you should renew for another 1 to 2 years so you don't miss out on any issues. Clearly they think their customers are stupid, but unfortunately this scare tactic probably works, otherwise they wouldn't do it. People may blindly write a check because the letter told them to do so. What would the world do without predatory marketing practices?

About Off Center Webcomic

Off Center is published weekly and is a family-friendly webcomic for people who like to laugh and maybe see the world in a slightly different way.

With all the filth on the Internet these days, hopefully this comic serves a refreshing oasis of fun and decency. And, most importantly, it is my hope that you enjoy this comic enough to return each week for the next installment. Always looking for comedic material so feel free to contribute!
